internet changes and frustrations

You probably have noticed I changed my theme here on wordpress. I liked my old one a lot, but I LOVE this one. I love how much bigger the pictures are. So that was enough for me to switch. I also think I can customize a little more, but I haven’t gotten into that yet.

I have also been trying to get all of my pictures that are saved on my computer uploaded to my Smugmug account. At least then, if something happens to the computer, I have 2 years of my life backed up safely. Plus I have been rearranging smugmug in hopes of upgrading to a Pro account soon. I have it set up now with “portfolios”. I have a hard time not showing EVERY picture I take. But I realize it would be better to just highlight the great ones.

The only issue is, every time I get involved in uploading to smugmug they have issues and lock me out! UGH! So right now, I am locked out. So I can’t even include a picture here!

On another subject, I got to spend some time this afternoon with 2 of my favorite girls… Michelle and Roz and I met at 5 Guys Burger and Fries. We had a blast laughing and planning wedding, talking babies, and bitching about guys. Ha! That’s what girlfriends are for and I am so thankful for those two! Michelle is like my sister and Roz has become a terrific BFF!

Oh and I have a confession…. I am watching American Idol. I heart Crystal Bowersox. And Lee Dewyze. I don’t know who I want to win. Dangit.

Let me go see if smugmug is working yet.

it’s been worse, but it’s really out of hand

that’s my desk as of Tuesday afternoon. I was so frustrated with it all, I took it’s picture. So later I could show it to my desk and say…”remember this, when you were all messy and covered with paper? Remember that time, you didn’t clean up, AND LOOK, you even made poor chair hold some of your things. What if someone wanted to SIT in the chair? Grow up and be more responsible!” right. yeah. I don’t think it listens to me.

What’s REALLY REALLY scary is that IS organized. It looks like a paper monster gave birth on my desk… but really those are “organized” piles of bills to pay, payments to post, things to delegate, drugs to deal, turvis tumblers to put more coffee, things to mail. This isn’t the best picture, but I wanted to include the one that showed the chair. The chair is part of the purgatory that certain paperwork has to endure before it’s moved to a basket to then on to the file cabinet in the sky. Sometimes I use both chairs. If you want to sit in my office, 9 times out of 10 you have to move the paper. Then I get really confused by the new pile of paper on my desk that I don’t know why its there.

The past month has been brain mushing with work. I have learned a ton and been overwhelmed more. As a matter of fact, its cinco de mayo and I don’t even care. It’s already 5 days into a month that I am not ready for. I am not done with The 1st quarter. Sure as hell not over April yet. I don’t have time for it to be May. Seriously.

Oh and I can’t sleep. therefore I blog stupid things about my desk. Thanks for listening to me rant.

ps. oh and when you are really frustrated and trying to make a point, don’t flail the hole puncher around. You just make the little holes go everywhere, then your point gets ignored due to hysterical laughter! you gotta love comedy relief. Now I have to vacuum!

unexpected freebie

I haven’t been sleeping well at night, so all of my free time is spent thinking about sleeping! I have been so brain-dead in the past couple of weeks that I completely forgot that Wayne told me he had ninja plans tonight.

That means I have a FREE night all to myself.

Now, this doesn’t mean I don’t have other “free” nights. Or that I am not allowed to do things on any other given night. It just means that on my calendar I have an evening that I did not have plans. Normally I know exactly what I am doing every minute of every day. (which is a completely idiotic way to live!) I guess I had plans to go home, cook dinner and chill out on the couch with Wayne.

So, someone please tell me what is wrong with me! The minute I realized that I had some “free” time this evening, I had to start making plans to fill it up! I am incapable of just sitting at the house, doing nothing! Ha!

Tomorrow I have a baby shower, a date, and big party plans for Larry’s “D-day” party, and Bree’s Birthday Bash.  I just assumed I would chill out tonight.

Now… I am leaving work and following Shandon home. She’s gonna give me a rocking new haircut and we’re gonna laugh a lot! Then, I am going to meet up with Roz and work on some decorations and gags for Larry’s party. We’re gonna laugh a lot! And we’re gonna drink. A lot.

Yay for “Free” nights. Within just a few hours, they become “Planned” Nights!

If i had a million hours…

(and a much smarter brain) I would sit here on this damn computer and learn HTML and obviously some CSS and have a bad ass blog. (and i would become a ninja). Instead I get so turned around and confused by the extra things I think I should be able to do!

Does anyone out there know anything about this TYPEKIT site? I can have 2 free fonts to use in my blog. I attempted to follow directions, then ended up in some page source screen where I can do something to something by putting something in some brackets…. I am so lost! ha!! I also should point out that I have not done ONE bit of research. I am positive that the FAQ, or a blog somewhere would make it easier. I just don’t have time. I am sleepy and over it now!

Maybe another day… like never. I just changed my THEME here on WordPress, and I am not sure about it yet. I have a problem, and I want to customize more than I can, or have time for. One day I will have a domain name all to myself, and a fancy smansy pretty blog that is the color I want and the style I want. For now I will just change the theme back and forth til I am happy(ish).

For a complete change of topic: I just spent over an hour being a ninja. Well, not really. But I did butcher about 40 Japanese words over and over in an attempt to help Wayne study for his black belt test tomorrow night. I didn’t really do much, and I am exhausted. And I got this ninja stuff down! Again, not really.

Ok, I am over the HTML, CSS, ABCDEFGHIJK stuff.

Tomorrow… I work.

Tomorrow night… I support my honey and cheer (quietly in my head) him on to ninja victory . Then we celebrate.

Saturday… get up before the sun and hit the road to spend 2 days at the gulf coast with my girlfriend of 20 years. She’s got a big birthday coming up so we are celebrating girl style! With a beach trip. Steph, her mom, her cousin, and her 3 year old, Madalyn, are already at the beach. Enjoying Mudslides and rum drinks and chocolate. (Well, not Madalyn, She has jelly beans… but you get the point). Saturday I will get to hang out with my favorite “niece” and have some good girl time.

Sunday… drive home and crash.

Monday… get up and do that work thing all over again!
